LOOT DISTRIBUTION: How Everyone Should Weigh Their Votes

Postby Danitsia » Wed Apr 24, 2013 4:35 pm

In light of recent events, we're taking some steps to standardize and unify all our raid groups' loot distribution processes so that they are all the exact same which is basically a "CLASS COUNCIL".

FACTORS TO CONSIDER

FACTOR 1: ITEM UPGRADABILITY & ROLE VIABILITY
When an item drops from a boss, the Raid Assistants will link the pieces in raid chat and then that item is passed to the CLASS LEADER of relevance. Anyone from that class that wants a shot at that piece NEEDS TO LINK THEIR CURRENT ITEM in their CLASS CHANNEL. Anyone voting should be looking a the UPGRADABILITY of that item to that player as well as the VIABILITY to the main role that player plays. For example a dagger that serves as a STAT stick versus that dagger being a primary DPS output weapon. A bard shouldn't be getting a top-end dagger over a melee rogue, for example.

FACTOR 2: MERIT STANDINGS & DEMERITS
Merit plays a considerable factor in decision making for loot --- it is your ATTENDANCE & PARTICIPATION record as well as demerits (subtractions to merit) help to identify problems in performance, attitude, preparedness, and failure to follow rules, etc. all which hinder the raid groups' advancements if its consistently an issue. So if you have 2 or 3 people that linked an item (described above) and you're gauging upgradability and viability, you should next be looking at who between them has the highest merit.

FACTOR 3: ITEM HISTORY
We keep an item history of all drops in this guild. Class Leaders are supposed to be adding their items as the raid goes or right after the raid ends. The amount of items a person has gotten should also be a factor in your voting proccess. So in my example above, you have 2 people that you have already considered upgradability and viability, and the two have about the same merit, you should look at the item history for those players to get at your final vote.

VOTING

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
ALL players that are part of a raid group are expected to VOTE for the BETTERMENT OF THEIR CLASS AS A TEAM in that raid group. Not the advancement of your girlfriend or husband or whatever just because they happen to be part of your class. Even our bench should be thinking about the advancement of that raid group, not just themselves.

CLASS LEADERS AS EXAMPLES
Class leaders should not only offer their vote but also their reasoning behind their votes. They are the example that we should all follow, BUT also do not be afraid to disagree with them. That's not only your responsibility, it is your right.

SELF-VOTES NOT AN OPTION
If you have put your link up there for review, you are not allowed to vote for yourself and must abstain.

Suggestions? Add them to the SUGGESTION BOX.
